About Marta Salogni

Marta Salogni is an acclaimed Italian record producer, mixer, and engineer based in London, where she operates her own Studio Zona. Beginning her career in Italy, she honed her craft as a live sound engineer within countercultural spaces such as Magazzino 47 social centre and Radio Onda D'Urto, working extensively across gigs, festivals, and theatrical productions. This grassroots experience laid the foundation for her diverse and innovative approach to music production.

Salogni has earned a formidable reputation for collaborating with an eclectic array of artists, including Björk, Depeche Mode, Bon Iver, Sampha, M.I.A., Black Midi, Animal Collective, Holly Herndon, and Mica Levi. Her work seamlessly traverses genres and styles, reflecting her versatile skill set and creative vision.

Beyond the studio, Marta Salogni distinguishes herself as a live performer by transforming vintage tape machines—such as Revox, Ferrograph, Akai, and Teac reel-to-reel recorders—into dynamic instruments. Through real-time manipulation of loops, feedback, and echoes, she crafts intricate sonic tapestries that delve into themes of time, memory, and magnetism, melding spontaneous and prepared sounds into immersive auditory experiences.

Committed to nurturing musical accessibility, Salogni founded the Free Youth Orchestra, a charitable initiative that eliminates financial barriers by providing instruments and free workshops led by local musicians. This project empowers young people to pursue their musical passions regardless of economic circumstance.

Marta Salogni’s blend of technical mastery, experimental innovation, and community engagement cements her status as a pioneering force in contemporary music production.
