About Pitbull

Pitbull, born Armando Christian Pérez, is a globally acclaimed bilingual rapper and producer celebrated for his vibrant blend of reggaeton, hip-hop, and dance music. Raised in Miami by Cuban immigrant parents, Pitbull was deeply influenced by his heritage and cultural upbringing, including memorizing the works of Cuban poet José Martí, which instilled an early appreciation for language and lyricism. Drawing inspiration from Southern rap legends like Poison Clan and Luther Campbell, the West Coast G-funk scene, and the lyrical prowess of New York’s Nas, he crafted a distinctive sound that fuses infectious party anthems with sophisticated rap.

Pitbull’s rise began in the early 2000s with notable collaborations alongside Lil Jon, including a freestyle on the platinum Kings of Crunk album (2002) and the track "Oye" from the 2 Fast 2 Furious soundtrack (2003). His debut album, "M.I.A.M.I." (2004), produced by Lil Jon, introduced hits like "Culo," setting the stage for a prolific career shaped by his energetic rap and club-ready hooks. Subsequent albums—"El Mariel" (2006), "The Boatlift" (2007), and "Rebelution" (2009)—featured standout tracks such as "I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)," cementing his mainstream success.

His commercial peak arrived with "Planet Pit" (2011), which included chart-toppers like "Give Me Everything" and "Hey Baby (Drop It to the Floor)," followed by "Global Warming" (2012), featuring the smash hit "Timber" with Kesha, and "Globalization" (2014), which delivered multiple Top 40 hits through collaborations with artists like Chris Brown and Sean Paul.
