About UHF

UHF is a Portland-based indie band formed in 1998, uniting drummer Matt Johnson and bassist/guitarist Jeff Nelson with brothers Jeremy and Jordan Leff, who contributed vocals and guitar respectively. Almost immediately after coming together, the quartet released their debut album, "Pieces," which marked their entry into the Pacific Northwest’s indie music scene. Building on this foundation, UHF followed up in 2000 with "Lottery," a concept album that achieved regional success and drew attention for its rich, psychedelic pop sound. Their 2002 album, "If It Was Easy," produced by Gregg Williams, further honed their style, blending catchy melodies with atmospheric, guitar-driven arrangements. Throughout their early 2000s discography, UHF established a reputation for marrying intricate instrumentation with thoughtful lyrics, appealing to fans of alternative and psychedelic pop. Known for their consistent evolution and vibrant sound, UHF remains a respected force within the Northwest’s diverse musical landscape, celebrated for their creative chemistry and lasting impact on indie rock.
