About SNIPER

Sniper is a seminal French hip-hop group originating from the Val-d'Oise region, with their roots tracing back to the 1997 Francofolies festival in La Rochelle. The original lineup featured rappers Aketo, Blacko, Tunisiano, and DJ Boudj. Renowned for their raw, socially conscious lyrics and authentic street narratives, Sniper quickly became influential figures within the French rap scene. Their breakthrough came with a series of three acclaimed albums—*Du rire aux larmes* (2001), *Gravé dans la roche* (2003), and *Trait pour trait* (2006)—which together sold over a million copies, solidifying their status in urban music both nationally and internationally.

After extensive touring, Blacko temporarily departed, leading Aketo and Tunisiano to continue as a duo and release the album *À toute épreuve* (2011). The trio later reunited for one last collaboration on *Personnalité Suspecte* (2018). Today, Sniper operates officially as a duo, with Aketo and Tunisiano keeping the group’s legacy alive through dynamic live performances that blend their classic hits with new material. Alongside their solo careers, they remain committed to producing fresh music, demonstrating Sniper’s enduring influence on French hip-hop culture and maintaining a strong connection with their devoted fanbase worldwide.
