About Rancid

Rancid, hailing from the working-class punk scene of Berkeley, California, formed in 1991 when Tim Armstrong and Matt Freeman joined forces following the breakup of their influential band Operation Ivy. Known for their gritty blend of punk rock infused with socially conscious lyrics, Rancid quickly carved out a reputation as stalwarts of the East Bay punk movement. Their major breakthrough came with the platinum-selling album "...And Out Come the Wolves" (1995), a landmark record that firmly established their place in punk history.

Building on that success, Rancid released ambitious albums such as "Life Won’t Wait" (1998) and a self-titled effort in 2000, showcasing their evolving sound. Drummer Branden Steineckert joined the band in 2003 after the release of "Indestructible," completing the lineup responsible for later works like "Let the Dominoes Fall" (2009), "Honor Is All We Know" (2014), and "Trouble Maker" (2017). Throughout their career, Rancid has remained fiercely independent, balancing raw political commentary with personal stories of love and loss, creating an inclusive community for fans and maintaining authentic punk roots.

With a legacy built on resilience, integrity, and relentless passion, Rancid continues to inspire countless punk bands while staying true to their Berkeley origins and the spirit of American punk rock.
