About Static‐X

Static-X is a pioneering American metal band formed in 1994, renowned for their aggressive blend of thrash metal, industrial sounds, and electronic rhythms. Originating in California but with roots linked to the Midwest, the band’s classic lineup came together when vocalist and guitarist Wayne Static met drummer Ken Jay in Chicago, later adding guitarist and programmer Koichi Fukada and bassist Tony Campos. Their breakthrough arrived with the 1999 release of *Wisconsin Death Trip*, a platinum-certified album whose cult status was fueled by hits like "Push It" and "Bled for Days," solidifying their place in the industrial metal scene.

Throughout the early 2000s, Static-X sustained their momentum with major releases such as *Machine* (2001), which went gold and marked their highest chart position, followed by *Shadow Zone* (2003) and *Start a War* (2005). The band evolved through lineup changes, including guitarist shifts with members like Tripp Eisen, while maintaining a loyal fanbase. Subsequent albums, including *Cannibal* (2007) and *Cult of Static* (2009), achieved solid Billboard chart success, showcasing the band’s enduring creative energy.

Wayne Static’s powerful vocals and iconic image became synonymous with the band’s identity until his untimely death in 2014. In tribute, the original members reunited, releasing *Project Regeneration, Vol. 1* (2020) and *Vol. 2* (2024), albums that combined archived vocals with fresh material. Featuring the enigmatic masked frontman Xer0 on stage, these posthumous projects revived Static-X’s legacy, proving their innovative fusion of heavy metal and industrial music continues to captivate both longtime followers and new listeners alike.
