About Rondò Veneziano

Rondò Veneziano is an innovative Italian chamber orchestra founded in 1979, celebrated for its unique fusion of classical Baroque melodies with contemporary electronic rhythms and percussion. This groundbreaking ensemble transformed traditional compositions into vibrant, accessible arrangements that often flirt with progressive rock, crafting a sound that bridges centuries of musical heritage. Distinctively, Rondò Veneziano features a predominantly female lineup who perform dressed in authentic period Baroque costumes, adding a compelling theatrical element to their live performances.

The group burst onto the international scene with their 1983 hit single "La Serenissima," which garnered widespread acclaim across the United Kingdom and broader European markets. Building on this success, they composed the soundtrack for the 1985 film *Not Quite Jerusalem*, further cementing their reputation beyond Italy. Since releasing their debut self-titled album in 1980, Rondò Veneziano has maintained a prolific output, producing over 70 albums in nearly three decades. Their enduring appeal was highlighted with the 2005 release of *25 Live*, a dynamic live collection capturing the energy and essence of their concerts.
