About Flogging Molly

Flogging Molly is a groundbreaking Celtic-punk band that has firmly established itself as a transatlantic institution since its formation in 1997. Based in Los Angeles, the group uniquely blends the raw energy of punk rock with the rich traditions of Irish folk music, crafting a sound that resonates across generations. Central to their distinctive style are Dave King, the band’s lead vocalist and guitarist who also plays the bodhrán, and his wife Bridget Regan, whose mastery of violin, fiddle, tin whistle, and backing vocals lays the Celtic foundation of their music.

Over more than two decades, Flogging Molly has cultivated a fiercely loyal global fanbase, sharing stages with a diverse range of artists from The Chieftains to Motörhead. Their ability to authentically navigate both punk and folk scenes underscores their versatility and enduring appeal. In 2022, the band released their seventh studio album, "Anthem," recorded swiftly in just 14 days at Chicago’s renowned Electrical Audio Studio. Produced by Steve Albini, known for his work with Nirvana and Pixies, and mixed by Atom Greenspan, whose credits include collaborations with Idles and Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, the album channels the resilience and solidarity needed in challenging times.
