About Safety Trance

Venezuelan-born and Barcelona-based Luis Garban, known as Safety Trance, is a trailblazer in the realm of contemporary electronic music. Emerging from his early 2000s project Cardopusher, where he dominated underground warehouse scenes with aggressive industrial techno and breakcore infused with the raw energy of his Caracas upbringing, Garban has continually evolved his sound. As Safety Trance, he crafts a unique fusion of Latin club rhythms and avant-garde electronica, notably reshaping reggaeton by deconstructing and reimagining its core elements.

His pivotal breakthrough arrived through collaborations with GRAMMY-nominated artist Arca on the critically acclaimed KiCk series (XL Recordings), co-producing standout tracks like "Prada," "Rakata," "KLK" featuring Rosalía, "Tiro," and "Queer." These partnerships positioned Safety Trance at the forefront of Latin experimental electronica, amplifying his influence across global club culture. Beyond Arca, he has worked with diverse electronic innovators including Boys Noize, Brodinski, Planningtorock, and The Horrors, further showcasing his versatility.
