About Saratoga

Saratoga is a seminal Spanish heavy metal band formed in Madrid in 1992 by vocalist Fortu Sánchez, bassist Niko Del Hierro, and guitarist Jero Ramiro. The band quickly gained recognition with their self-titled debut album "Saratoga" (1995) and its follow-up "Tributo" (1996). After Fortu’s departure, Gabriel Boente briefly took over vocals for the album "Mi Ciudad" (1997), before Leo Jiménez became the frontman, joining forces with drummer Dani Pérez. This lineup propelled Saratoga to new heights with influential albums such as "Vientos de Guerra," "Agotarás," "El Clan de la Lucha," and "Tierra de Lobos," solidifying their reputation as one of Spain’s heaviest metal acts.

Further evolution saw the addition of guitarist Tony Hernández and vocalist Tete Novoa, leading to acclaimed releases like "VII" (2007), "Secretos y Revelaciones" (2009), and "Nemesis" (2012). Despite announcing an indefinite hiatus, Saratoga reunited in 2013 with Niko, Jero, Dani, and Tete, resulting in "Morir en el Bien, Vivir en el Mal" (2016). They commemorated their 25th anniversary with extensive tours across Spain and the Americas and garnered critical acclaim for "Aeternus" (2018). After a pandemic pause and lineup changes, including the incorporation of drummer El Estepario Siberiano, Saratoga has continued to innovate while honoring their powerful heavy metal roots, reaffirming their enduring legacy in the Spanish metal scene.
