About BUCK‐TICK

BUCK-TICK, a pioneering force in Japanese rock, debuted in 1987 under Victor Invitation and swiftly emerged as trailblazers of the visual kei movement. Their breakthrough came with the third album, "TABOO" (1989), which soared to number one on the Oricon charts just two years after their debut. This success propelled them onto prestigious stages like Nippon Budokan and Tokyo Dome, solidifying their place in Japan’s rock history.

Renowned for blending dark, gothic atmospheres with accessible pop sensibilities, BUCK-TICK has continuously evolved by incorporating avant-garde and cutting-edge elements into their music. Over decades, they cultivated a distinctive sound that set them apart within Japan’s alternative rock scene. In 2022, they celebrated their 35th anniversary with sold-out performances at Yokohama Arena, drawing approximately 12,000 fans. This milestone was marked by the release of the five-disc concept best-of album "CATALOGUE THE BEST 35th anniv." followed by a nationwide tour.

Their 23rd studio album, "異空 -IZORA-" (2023), featured singles such as "太陽とイカロス" and "無限 LOOP," supported by an extensive hall tour concluding in their hometown of Gunma. Despite the profound loss of lead vocalist Atsushi Sakurai in October 2023, BUCK-TICK affirmed their commitment to continue, honoring his legacy with a special year-end Budokan concert titled "バクチク現象-2023-". Looking ahead, they plan to release their 24th album, "スブロサ SUBROSA," in 2024, underscoring their lasting impact on Japanese rock and alternative music.
