About Pippa Blundell

Hailing from Glasgow, Scotland, Pippa Blundell has rapidly gained recognition as one of the city’s most compelling singer-songwriters. Blending intimate folk storytelling with ambient soundscapes and a classically trained vocal style, Blundell crafts a distinctive nu-folk sound that resonates with authenticity and emotional depth. Their debut album received critical acclaim, earning the title of Album of the Year on BBC Radio Scotland’s Roddy Hart show, while their growing prominence was further affirmed by winning the Rising Star award at the 2025 Scottish Jazz Awards and becoming a finalist in the Sound of Young Scotland Award (SAYA).

In 2026, Pippa’s versatility was showcased through a celebrated performance with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra for Burns Night, marking a significant milestone in their career. That same year, Blundell explored a more stripped-back aesthetic with the EP "Songs With James," a collaboration with their partner James Mackay. Known for his improvisational guitar style influenced by Bill Frisell, Mackay’s interplay with Blundell’s poignant songwriting delivers an intimate and evocative listening experience.
