About Pond

Pond is a vibrant Australian psychedelic rock band that emerged from Perth in the late 2000s, quickly establishing themselves as an adventurous and genre-defying force within the indie music scene. Initially formed as a Royal Trux-meets-Cream-inspired power trio, the group was led by frontman Nick Allbrook, alongside Jay Watson and Joe Ryan. Their lineup soon expanded with the addition of Jamie Terry and James Ireland, solidifying the eclectic five-piece sound that fans worldwide have come to adore.

Over a prolific career spanning ten studio albums, Pond has evolved from straightforward psychedelic rock into more experimental territory, seamlessly blending vivid sonic textures with infectious grooves and funk influences. Their 2023 release, "Stung!", has been hailed by critics as one of their finest achievements, notable for its bold fusion of psychedelic rock anthems and unexpected rhythmic departures.

Pond’s energetic and immersive live performances have earned them international acclaim. They have shared stages with renowned acts such as Arctic Monkeys, MGMT, and The Flaming Lips, while captivating audiences at prestigious festivals including Glastonbury, Coachella, Bonnaroo, Primavera, Reading and Leeds, South by Southwest, and Splendour in the Grass. As they embark on their 2024 "Stung!" World Tour, Pond continues to push the boundaries of contemporary psychedelic music, reinforcing their reputation as innovators at the forefront of Australia’s dynamic indie landscape.
