About POiSON GiRL FRiEND

POiSON GiRL FRiEND is the innovative solo project of nOrikO, a multifaceted artist whose music reflects a richly layered multicultural background. Born in Tokyo and raised in Brazil, where she attended a French-language school, nOrikO later lived in London, experiences that profoundly shaped her distinctive sound. Through these diverse cultural influences, she blends classical melodies, vibrant Brazilian dance rhythms, the elegant nuances of French chanson, the edgy spirit of British New Wave, and the pulsating energy of early 1990s club and electronic music.

As a singer, songwriter, composer, producer, and DJ based in Japan, nOrikO channels this eclectic palette into POiSON GiRL FRiEND’s genre-defying style. Her work creates immersive sonic landscapes that defy traditional categories, offering an original fusion of global sounds. This innovative approach has resonated with listeners seeking fresh, boundary-pushing music that is both intellectually engaging and emotionally captivating.

While POiSON GiRL FRiEND’s sound is deeply rooted in international influences, it also embodies a futuristic vision that sets her apart in the contemporary music scene. Through her project, nOrikO not only highlights the power of cultural synthesis but also pioneers a sophisticated, globalized sound that continues to inspire fans and critics alike.
