About Will Samson

Will Samson is a British musician celebrated for his evocative fusion of ambient, electronic, and folk music. Born in Oxford, his multicultural roots trace back to Chile and West Bengal through his maternal grandparents, who themselves met in Kenya. This rich heritage, combined with a childhood spent in Western Australia, has deeply shaped his artistic voice. After nearly a decade abroad, Samson returned to the UK, eventually dividing his time among vibrant cultural hubs including Berlin, Brighton, Lisbon, Brussels, and Bristol.

These experiences of geographic and cultural transition permeate Samson’s work, which intricately explores themes of identity, displacement, and belonging. His debut album, "Balance" (2012), mastered by the renowned producer Nils Frahm, introduced listeners to his immersive, haunting soundscapes—an artful blend of textured electronic atmospherics and intimate folk narratives. Since then, Samson has steadily refined his sonic palette, building a discography known for its introspective lyrics and richly layered compositions.

His forthcoming album, "Active Imagination," is poised to further expand this distinctive aesthetic, offering deeper and more expansive explorations within his signature sound.
