About Coltaine

Emerging from the enigmatic Black Forest of southern Germany, Coltaine is a compelling musical project founded in 2014 by brothers Moe and Benedikt Berg. Over the years, the band has carved out a unique niche by blending dark, atmospheric psychedelia with a rich tapestry of 70s rock, black metal, and post-metal influences. This fusion results in a sound that fluidly shifts between ethereal melodies and intense growls, anchored by the versatile vocal range of Jules and the driving percussion of Amin.

Coltaine’s music transports listeners through misty, surreal landscapes where themes of life, death, and spiritual energy intertwine. Their 2022 album, "Forgotten Ways," exemplifies this immersive approach, merging blackgaze and acid rock hues to create a foggy yet emotive sonic experience. The compositions balance obscurity with moments of hopeful illumination, reflecting the band’s dedication to exploring new horizons while honoring their diverse roots.

Known for dynamic performances that oscillate between soulful harmony and crushing heaviness, Coltaine continues to forge an evolving soundscape that challenges traditional genre boundaries. Their fusion of experimental heavy music and atmospheric psychedelia promises an exciting trajectory in rock and metal, inviting audiences into a captivating journey through shadowy, mystical realms.
