About Caro Emerald

Caro Emerald, born Caroline van der Leeuw in 1981 in Amsterdam, has carved a unique niche in contemporary music with her distinctive blend of vintage jazz, Latin rhythms, and 1960s-inspired sounds, all infused with modern production techniques. Collaborating closely with producers and songwriters David Schreurs, Vincent Degiorgio, and Jan van Wieringen, she crafts a sound that fuses smoky hip-hop beats, cinematic film score elements, and big band orchestrations. This captivating fusion has positioned her as a pioneer in the electro-swing and retro-inspired music scenes.

Emerging on the global stage with her debut album "Deleted Scenes from the Cutting Room Floor" (2010), Caro Emerald achieved remarkable success, selling over two million copies worldwide. The album dominated charts across Europe and the UK, and notably held the number-one spot in the Netherlands for a record-breaking 30 weeks—the longest reign in Dutch chart history. Signature hits like "Back It Up" and "A Night Like This" showcase her sultry vocals and infectious grooves, cementing her appeal to both jazz aficionados and pop audiences.

Caro Emerald’s compelling live performances have graced prestigious venues such as London’s Royal Albert Hall, Glastonbury Festival, and Hyde Park, further amplifying her international acclaim.
