About Kim Deal

Kim Deal, born in 1961 in Dayton, Ohio, is a seminal figure in alternative rock whose influential career spans over three decades. She first rose to prominence as the bassist and backing vocalist for the groundbreaking Pixies, a band that helped shape the sound of indie and alternative rock through the late 1980s and early 1990s. Known for her distinctive voice, melodic bass lines, and harmonies, Deal's work with the Pixies played a crucial role in defining a sonic template that would inspire countless grunge and alternative bands.

Beyond her tenure with the Pixies, Kim Deal established herself as a creative force by founding The Breeders, where she took on lead vocals and guitar duties. The band’s 1993 album, "Last Splash," featuring hits like “Cannonball,” solidified her status as a pioneering artist within the alternative music scene. She also led The Amps, further showcasing her versatility and commitment to experimenting with raw, noise-infused rock textures.

In 2014, Deal embarked on her solo career with the release of "Nobody Loves You More," highlighting her songwriting prowess and unique musical vision.
