About Xzibit

Xzibit, born Alvin Nathaniel Joiner on September 18, 1974, in Detroit, Michigan, emerged as a leading figure in West Coast hip-hop during the late 1990s. Launching his career with the California collective Tha Alkaholiks alongside King T and Defari, he first gained attention through guest appearances on King T's *IV Life* (1994) and Tha Alkaholiks' *Coast II Coast* (1995). His solo debut, *At the Speed of Life* (1996), featured the Billboard Hot 100 hit "Paparazzi" and production by renowned names such as DJ Muggs and Diamond D, establishing him as a compelling voice in underground rap.

Xzibit’s follow-up album, *40 Dayz & 40 Nightz* (1998), widely regarded as his best work, delivered the Top 50 single "What U See Is What U Get" and showcased extensive production from Sir Jinx. His profile surged in 1999 with notable guest spots on Dr. Dre’s seminal *2001* album—most memorably on "What’s the Difference" alongside Eminem—and Snoop Dogg’s *No Limit Top Dogg*. The release of *Restless* (2000), executive produced by Dr. Dre, marked his commercial peak, going platinum with the hit single "X" and collaborations including Snoop Dogg and Nate Dogg.

Though subsequent albums *Man vs Machine* (2002) and *Weapons of Mass Destruction* (2004) met with modest success, Xzibit expanded into film with roles in *8 Mile* and *XXX: State of the Union* and gained mainstream fame as the charismatic host of MTV’s *Pimp My Ride* (2004–2007). After navigating financial hurdles and a musical hiatus, he returned strongly in 2012 with *Napalm*, an energetic album featuring Dr. Dre and Wiz Khalifa, which reaffirmed his enduring influence in hip-hop.
