About Tei Shi

Tei Shi is a Colombian-Canadian singer-songwriter renowned for her distinctive blend of lush cultural influences and contemporary pop sensibility. Raised between Colombia and Canada, she first captured attention with two self-released EPs: *Saudade* (2013) and *Verde* (2015). The latter introduced her breakthrough single "Bassically," which has garnered over 18 million streams on Spotify, cementing Tei Shi’s status as an emerging force in modern pop music.

Her debut album, *Crawl Space* (2017), received critical acclaim for its inventive, genre-defying sound, followed by *La Linda* (2019), which further established her as a compelling and sophisticated artist. That same year, Tei Shi collaborated with Blood Orange on his acclaimed album *Negro Swan* and performed alongside him at Coachella. She also appeared in the music video featuring high-profile artists including Diddy, A$AP Rocky, and Tyler, the Creator.

After parting ways with a difficult label situation in 2020, Tei Shi embraced independence, releasing the EP *Die 4 Ur Love* during the global pandemic—an artistic testament to her resilience. Her recent singles, "GRIP" and "BAD PREMONITION," explore industry frustrations while signaling a fresh, creative direction. Praised by Pitchfork for her worldly sophistication and pop star allure, Tei Shi continues to craft deeply personal, boundary-pushing music with new projects anticipated in the coming years.
