About HEALTH

Emerging from the underground noise scene of downtown Los Angeles in 2006, HEALTH is a trio consisting of singer-guitarist Jake Duzsik, bassist-producer John Famiglietti, and drummer BJ Miller. Known for their raw, abrasive sound built on backfiring guitar pedals and experimental textures, the band quickly distinguished themselves within alternative and electronic rock circles. Their breakthrough came with the 2009 album "Get Color," which propelled them onto major festival stages like Coachella and Primavera Sound, earning critical acclaim for transcending genre boundaries.

HEALTH further expanded their sonic palette with scoring the soundtrack for the video game *Max Payne 3*, showcasing their ability to blend atmospheric and intense soundscapes. Their 2015 release, "Death Magic," marked a pivotal moment by integrating digital production techniques with their signature noise-driven, avant-garde style. This album resonated widely, appealing to audiences ranging from goth clubgoers to home producers worldwide.

Continuing their evolution, 2019’s "Vol. 4 :: Slaves of Fear" merged thrash metal riffs with ambient melancholy and hip-hop beats, highlighting their increasingly diverse influences. During the COVID-19 pandemic, HEALTH released the two-part "Disco4" project, emphasizing collaboration across metal, rap, electronic, and indie rock genres — a testament to their genre-defying spirit. Their latest album, "Rat Wars," embraces discomfort and experimentation, solidifying HEALTH’s status as fearless innovators pushing the boundaries of alternative and electronic music.
