About Xpansul

Xpansul, the stage name of Santiago Ferrer, is a foundational figure in the global techno scene whose career began in Madrid in 1993. Rising through the ranks as a resident DJ at iconic Spanish venues such as Soma Experimental Club—renowned for pioneering underground techno—and Coppelia 101, a hub of the early 2000s techno revival, Xpansul crafted a unique sound that fuses the vibrant influences of Detroit, Chicago, and Berlin techno. His performances are marked by a masterful and playful mixing style, turning each set into an immersive sonic journey that resonates across dancefloors worldwide.

Since entering the production realm in 1998, Xpansul has created a rich catalog of original tracks and remixes, often collaborating with artists like Alexi Delano. His work has been released on prestigious labels including Plus 8, Ovum, Synewave, Truesoul, Harthouse, Perc Trax, and Trapez. Early releases on Audiodrome, Options, and Isoghi earned him critical acclaim, solidifying his reputation as a forward-thinking producer. Beyond his artistic output, Santiago Ferrer has made a significant impact as a label manager and co-founder of True Type Tracks and w0rkt34m, fostering both rising and established talent within the electronic music community.
