About So Solid Crew

So Solid Crew, formed in 1998 in London’s Borough of Wandsworth by Mega and his associate G.Man, stands as one of the UK’s most influential and pioneering musical collectives. Emerging from the vibrant underground scene, Mega initially secured a solo deal with the track "OHNO," which he both wrote and produced. Rather than pursuing solo fame, he declared, "My deal is my family's deal So Solid Crew," using this opportunity to build a platform for the entire group. As the crew’s first producer, promoter, and booking agent, Mega, alongside G.Man, established an independent label that allowed So Solid Crew to thrive.

Blending UK garage and hip-hop, So Solid Crew quickly became synonymous with the energetic sound of early 2000s London urban music. Their innovative approach produced a string of chart-topping singles and influential albums such as *They Don’t Know* (2001), which propelled them into mainstream success. They remain the UK’s only multi-award-winning, multi-platinum collective in these genres, including the prestigious Brit Award, marking their lasting imprint on British music culture.
