About Dame Area

Dame Area, the Barcelona-based Catalan-Italian duo, has established themselves as one of Europe’s most electrifying live electronic acts. Renowned for their raw and intense performances, they have played nearly 300 shows across Europe and America, captivating audiences at major festivals such as Atonal, CTM, Nuits Sonores, Grauzone, Dour, and Fusion. Their commanding presence has graced iconic venues like Berghain, Tresor, and Apolo, while a standout session at Seattle’s influential KEXP studio further solidified their reputation.

Their sound is a fierce fusion of industrial music, blending haunting percussions inspired by Einstürzende Neubauten with flamenco-influenced polyrhythms. This primal energy is combined with minimal synth textures and reimagined elements from post-punk and EBM, drawing influence from pioneering acts like Esplendor Geometrico and Suicide. Dame Area’s sonic identity continuously evolves without losing its core intensity.

In 2023, they released the album "Toda la verdad sobre Dame Area" via Mannequin Records. The record successfully distills the power of their live shows into a fierce industrial package, maintaining artistic integrity while exploring new sonic territories. Beyond Mannequin, the duo has worked with forward-thinking labels like BFE, Kess Kill, and their own imprint, Màgia Roja. The Quietus has praised Màgia Roja as “Spain’s most extreme and most important label-slash-venue,” highlighting Dame Area’s significance within the avant-garde electronic scene.
