About Pálida Tez

Pálida Tez is a compelling indie band hailing from Albacete, Spain, a city renowned for its vibrant independent music scene. Since forming in the summer of 2020, this four-piece—comprised of María (vocals and guitar), Samuel (guitar and vocals), Manuel (drums), and Elena (bass)—has carved out a distinctive sound that fuses shoegaze and noise pop with a nostalgic nod to ’90s alternative rock icons like Pavement and Dinosaur Jr. At the same time, they skillfully incorporate modern influences reminiscent of artists such as Snail Mail and Horsegirl.

Known for their introspective lyrics and melancholic melodies, Pálida Tez explores themes of personal acceptance and emotional vulnerability through a raw, gritty sonic palette. Their debut EP, "Viaje a la habitación del fondo de la casa" (2021), highlights a deliberately unpolished, old-school production aesthetic that prioritizes authenticity over commercial sheen. This foundational release introduced listeners to their hypnotic rhythm section and María’s compelling melodic sensibility.

Building on this momentum, the band’s first full-length album, "Un extraño estado de ánimo" (2025), produced by Carlos Hernández and released via El Genio Equivocado, further solidified their place in the contemporary indie landscape. The record expands their signature blend of atmospheric guitars and heartfelt storytelling, capturing the complex emotional layers that define Pálida Tez’s evolving artistic identity.
