Steve Martin, born on August 14, 1945, in Waco, Texas, rose to prominence as one of America’s most influential stand-up comedians of the 1970s. Raised primarily in California, he developed a unique performance style early on while working at Disneyland, where he mastered magic, juggling, banjo playing, and balloon sculpting. Breaking into entertainment through writing and performing on television shows like *The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour* and *The Sonny & Cher Show*, Martin quickly became known for his inventive blend of absurdity and anti-comedy.

His stand-up career skyrocketed with appearances on *Saturday Night Live* and *The Tonight Show*, leading to the release of his groundbreaking comedy albums *Let's Get Small* (1977) and the platinum-selling *A Wild and Crazy Guy* (1978), which featured the witty disco parody hit "King Tut." Transitioning seamlessly into film, Martin wrote and starred in the cult classic *The Jerk* (1979) and showcased his comedic range in acclaimed movies including *All of Me* (1984) and *Roxanne* (1987).
