About Alejandro Filio

Alejandro Filio, born in Guadalajara, Mexico, in 1960, is a seminal figure in the Latin American trova movement, known for blending poetic lyricism with captivating melodies. Emerging in the late 1970s as part of the Nueva Trova Mexicana, he independently produced foundational albums such as "Filio," "En Esta Inmensidad," and "Caín," which established his artistic voice. His international breakthrough came with the album "Secreto a Voces," recorded across Spain, Cuba, and Argentina, featuring collaborations with icons like Silvio Rodríguez and Víctor Manuel.

With a prolific catalog of over seventeen albums, including notable works like "Hermano Lobo" (1999), "Mujer Que Camina" (2001), "Pionero de Guerra" (2008), "Buscando el Alma" (2011), "Se Trata de Sentir" (2014), "40 Peldaños" (2017), and "Trova Azul" (2018), Filio’s music resonates deeply across generations. His live album "Un Secreto en Vivo" (1998) showcases the magnetic connection he fosters on stage, while his founding of Lundra Producciones highlights his commitment to independent artistry.

Beyond his own performances, Alejandro Filio’s profound compositions have inspired celebrated Latin artists such as Carlos Rivera, Ricardo Montaner, and Mijares to reinterpret his songs. Over decades, Filio has solidified his legacy as a timeless storyteller whose evocative music continues to unite and inspire audiences throughout Latin America and beyond.
