About Buscabulla

Buscabulla is a Puerto Rican experimental pop duo formed by Raquel Berríos and Luis Alfredo Del Valle, whose music uniquely blends minimalist melodies with vintage salsa, R&B, and subtle nods to ’90s reggaeton. After spending nearly a decade in New York City, the pair cultivated a sound defined by Raquel’s airy, high-pitched vocals set against Luis Alfredo’s emotive basslines. Their early releases, *EP I* (2014), produced by Dev Hynes, and *EP II* (2017), garnered international attention and established Buscabulla as innovative voices within the Latin pop and indie music scenes.

The devastation wrought by Hurricane María in 2017 profoundly affected the duo and accelerated their decision to return to Puerto Rico in 2018. This pivotal moment inspired their debut full-length album, *Regresa* (2019), a poignant exploration of loss, resilience, and the complexities of homecoming. The title, meaning "return," reflects both personal and collective themes of longing and hope amid adversity. Buscabulla’s name, which translates roughly as "troublemaker," reflects their commitment to challenging musical conventions while honoring their cultural roots. Through evocative songwriting and textured productions, Buscabulla continues to captivate audiences worldwide, crafting an introspective soundscape that resonates deeply with the Puerto Rican diaspora experience.
