About Grum

Grum, born Graeme Shepherd in Edinburgh, Scotland, is a celebrated electronic music producer and DJ known for his vibrant fusion of ’80s-inspired synthpop with contemporary electronic styles. Now based in Leeds, England, Grum first garnered attention in 2009 with standout tracks like "Runaway" and "Heartbeats," released on Glasgow’s Heartbeats Records. These early hits earned widespread acclaim from influential BBC Radio 1 DJs including Zane Lowe, Annie Mac, and Rob da Bank, while also gaining traction on key music blogs such as Discodust. "Heartbeats" notably featured on multiple Ministry of Sound compilations, cementing Grum’s presence in the electronic scene.

Drawing inspiration from legends like Giorgio Moroder and New Order alongside modern acts like Daft Punk and Cut Copy, Grum’s sound blends Italo disco, French house, and progressive trance elements. His remix work includes high-profile reinterpretations of Lady Gaga’s "Bad Romance," Goldfrapp’s "Rocket," and Friendly Fires’ "Skeleton Boy," showcasing his versatile production skills.

Grum’s debut album, *Heartbeats* (2010), released via Ultra Records, established him as a prominent figure in electronic music. He showcased his talents at major festivals including Creamfields and Ultra Music Festival, sharing stages with icons like Tiësto and Above & Beyond. After several successful singles such as the Beatport-charting "Under Your Skin" (2016) and "Shout" (2017), Grum released his sophomore album, *Deep State* (2019) on Anjunabeats. This album marked a refined blend of trance and progressive house, featuring collaborations with artists like Natalie Shay, Dom Youdan, and Jinadu, securing his reputation as a forward-thinking force in modern electronic production.
