About Soziedad Alkoholika

Soziedad Alkoholika, hailing from Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain, is a seminal force in the crossover scene, fusing thrash, hardcore, metal, and punk into a uniquely aggressive sound. Their explosive entrance began with the demo "Intoxikazión Etílika," which introduced fans to their blistering speed and raw intensity. The band’s self-titled debut album (1991) firmly established their reputation with powerful, socially charged lyrics tackling militarism, fascism, racism, and sexism—issues they have consistently confronted through their music.

Gaining momentum throughout the 1990s, Soziedad Alkoholika’s album "Ratas" (1995) achieved Gold status in Spain by selling over 50,000 copies, propelling them into wider recognition. Known for relentless touring across Spain, Europe, Latin America, and Japan, they have sold nearly 400,000 records domestically, solidifying their standing in the underground metal and punk scenes.

Initially releasing material through their own label, Mil A Gritos Records, the band signed with Roadrunner Records in 2008. This partnership yielded critically acclaimed works like "Mala Sangre" (2008), named Rock Zone’s best album of the year, and "Sesión 2." Subsequent releases, including "Cadenas de Odio" (2011) and the "Caucho Ardiendo" EP (2013), demonstrated their evolving sound. Later collaborations with Maldito Records produced albums such as "Sistema Antisocial" (2017) and the live record "En Bruto XIX" (2019), further cementing Soziedad Alkoholika’s legacy as pioneers of Spanish-language crossover thrash.
