Formed in San Jose, California in 1994, Smash Mouth swiftly established themselves as a standout act in the alternative rock scene with their vibrant fusion of pop rock, ska punk, and power pop. Their breakthrough came in 1997 with the infectious single "Walkin' On The Sun," which earned widespread radio airplay and a major label deal. However, it was the release of "All Star" in 1999 that propelled Smash Mouth into global stardom, becoming an enduring anthem that defined the late ’90s music landscape. This track not only climbed multiple charts but also gained iconic status through its prominent feature in the 2001 animated film *Shrek*, introducing the band to new audiences and cementing their place in pop culture history.
