About The Twang

Emerging from Birmingham in 2004, The Twang quickly carved out their place as one of the defining bands of the mid-2000s British indie rock scene. The lineup—vocalist Phil Etheridge, bassist Jon Watkin, guitarist Stu Hartland, and drummer Ash Sheehan—first caught widespread attention with their debut single "Wide Awake" in early 2007. This momentum soared with their follow-up, "Either Way," which broke into the UK Top 10, reaching number eight on the charts. Their debut album, *Love It When I Feel Like This* (2007), released on June 4, became a commercial and critical success, peaking at number three on the UK Albums Chart and achieving platinum status. This acclaim was underscored by the band receiving the prestigious NME Philip Hall Radar Award, signaling their emergence as a key force in the indie genre.

Over the years, The Twang have expanded their catalog with five studio albums and a greatest hits and B-sides collection, featuring standout tracks like "Barney Rubble," "We're a Crowd," and "Everytime." Renowned for their electrifying live performances, the band has built a loyal fanbase, drawn to their raw energy and authentic connection on stage. As trailblazers of British indie rock, The Twang continue to influence the scene with their enduring sound and promise an exciting future for fans and newcomers alike.
