About Caspian

Caspian is a renowned post-rock band originating from Beverly, Massachusetts, formed in 2004 by Philip Jamieson (guitars, keyboards), Calvin Joss (guitar), Chris Friedrich (bass), and Joe Vickers (drums). Erin Burke-Moran joined in 2007, completing the lineup that would define their signature sound. Their journey began with the acclaimed EP "You Are the Conductor" (2005), which set the stage for their debut album "The Four Trees" (2007). Caspian’s atmospheric instrumental compositions blend lush melodies with powerful dynamics, capturing the emotional scope that defines modern post-rock.

Building on early success, their sophomore album "Tertia" (2009) received widespread critical praise and supported extensive tours across Europe, North America, and China. Their 2012 release, "Waking Season," produced by Matt Bayles, marked a career milestone, earning accolades such as Spin’s designation of "Best Post-Rock Album of the Year." The band faced a profound challenge in 2013 with the passing of bassist Chris Friedrich but persevered, releasing "Dust & Disquiet" (2015), a testament to their resilience and evolving artistry.

Continuing to innovate, Caspian teamed up with producer Will Yip for "On Circles" (2020), which debuted amid the onset of the global pandemic. Known for their immersive soundscapes and dynamic live performances, Caspian remains a pivotal force in American post-rock, continually pushing the boundaries of instrumental music with emotive intensity and expansive sonic textures.
