About MIYAVI

MIYAVI, born Takamasa Ishihara, is a celebrated Japanese musician, actor, and philanthropist renowned worldwide for his signature “samurai” guitar playing style. Since his debut, he has embarked on eight global tours, thrilling audiences across more than 30 countries with his dynamic performances and innovative fusion of rock, pop, and electronic sounds. MIYAVI’s musical journey reached a milestone with the release of *Samurai Sessions Vol. 3: Worlds Collide* (2018), a groundbreaking collaboration album featuring prominent international artists such as Oscar-nominated Samuel L. Jackson, Grammy nominees Gallant and Mikky Ekko, Grammy-winning producer RAC, as well as vocalists Yuna, DUCKWRTH, and Betty Who. The album also showcases leading Japanese talents, including SHISHIDO KAVKA, Daichi Miura, Miliyah, Kreva, AK-69, and a poignant posthumous collaboration with hide from X Japan.

Beyond music, MIYAVI has made a significant mark in cinema, debuting in the Oscar-nominated film *Unbroken* (2014) and appearing in blockbuster hits like *Kong: Skull Island* (2017), *Bleach* (2018), and *Maleficent 2* (2019). He is also a cultural icon in fashion and brand representation, serving as an ambassador for American Airlines, Rakuten Mobile, and BMW. MIYAVI has appeared in campaigns for Beats by Dre, Moncler, and Gucci—alongside Lil Nas X and Jane Fonda—and has walked the runway at Paris Fashion Week for Yohji Yamamoto’s Y-3 collection. His work as a United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees goodwill ambassador highlights his dedication to humanitarian causes.
