About Cheekface

Cheekface is a Los Angeles-based indie rock trio renowned for their distinctive talk-singing style and sharp, socially aware wit. Formed in 2017 by indie veterans Greg and Mandy, who later brought Echo into the lineup, the band began as a modest project to express the anxieties and dark humor of contemporary life. Their breakthrough came in 2018 with the single "Dry Heat/Nice Town," a witty and playful commentary on leftist protest culture that quickly gained viral traction. This sparked a dedicated grassroots fanbase affectionately known as the "Cheek Freaks," drawn to the band’s clever lyricism and engaging, community-driven performances.

Cheekface’s debut album, "Therapy Island" (2019), laid the groundwork for their signature sound, blending talk-sung narratives with incisive social commentary. Their follow-up, "Emphatically No" (2021), became the top-selling alternative album on Bandcamp, solidifying their growing popularity. The band reached new heights with their third record, "Too Much to Ask" (2022), which climbed to number two on non-commercial radio charts and earned critical acclaim, including praise from The Needle Drop as one of the year’s best albums. Continuing their upward momentum, "It’s Sorted" (2024) was supported by sold-out tours across the U.S., Canada, and the UK. Most recently, Cheekface self-released their fifth album, "Middle Spoon" (2025), further cementing their reputation as America’s fiercely independent, community-minded indie rock favorite known for sharp social insights and dynamic live shows.
