About Covenant

Covenant is a pioneering Swedish electronic band that emerged from southern Sweden when its members were ambitious teenagers equipped with basic electronics. Their name, evoking sacred bonds and deep commitment, reflects the enduring brotherhood and artistic vision that has shaped their near three-decade career. Renowned as masters of darkwave and electronic body music, Covenant has distinguished themselves with a visionary, introspective sound that explores themes of modern uncertainty and human resilience.

Over the course of nine studio albums, the band has continuously evolved, blending cold, intense energy with haunting melodies that invite listeners into contemplative depths rather than explosive highs. Their 2016 release, *The Blinding Dark*, crystallizes this mature artistic outlook. Keyboardist Joakim Montelius describes the album as a "triumphant embrace" of the soul’s enduring power against "dark, confusing times." The record channels a unique "cold fury" and a soundscape "beautiful as a collapsed star," serving as a sonic voyage through inner shadows and dystopian realities.
