About Fother Muckers

Fother Muckers is a seminal Chilean indie rock band that emerged in Santiago in 2005, consisting of Cristóbal Briceño (vocals and rhythm guitar), Simón Sánchez (bass and backing vocals), Héctor Muñoz (lead guitar), and Martín del Real (drums). Over six years, they crafted a distinct sound characterized by energetic performances and thoughtful, introspective lyrics, quickly becoming a cornerstone of Chile’s indie music scene. Their influence resonated throughout the 2000s and early 2010s, as they helped shape the country’s alternative rock movement with their dynamic style and passionate delivery.

Throughout their tenure, Fother Muckers built a loyal following in Santiago and beyond, standing out for their ability to blend raw rock energy with melodic complexity. Their thoughtful songwriting and spirited live shows contributed greatly to the vibrancy of Chile’s independent music culture. In April 2011, the band underwent a pivotal transformation, rebranding themselves as Ases Falsos while retaining the original lineup. This shift marked a creative evolution, allowing the group to explore new musical territories while honoring the foundation laid during their years as Fother Muckers.

Though their name changed, the legacy of Fother Muckers remains integral to understanding the growth of Chile’s indie rock scene, embodying a period of artistic courage and innovative sound that continues to inspire emerging artists within the region.
