About Simms

Baltimore-based artist Simms has carved out a distinctive niche in the contemporary music landscape by seamlessly blending rap, soul, and R&B into a sound that is both smooth and deeply introspective. Drawing inspiration from his upbringing and personal experiences, Simms crafts lyrics that offer authentic storytelling, balanced with captivating melodies and soulful harmonies. Influenced by iconic figures such as Chance the Rapper and Andre 3000, he skillfully combines laid-back, confident rap flows with an impressive vocal range, allowing him to effortlessly shift between rhythmic verses and lush, melodic refrains.

Simms gained attention through his ability to fuse boastful lyricism with genuine emotional depth, appealing to a wide audience hungry for substance in their music. His 2023 project, "Yes, I Am A Mess," exemplifies this growth, showcasing his versatility and blending vulnerability with technical prowess. The album demonstrates his refusal to be confined by traditional genre boundaries and highlights his ongoing evolution as an artist capable of resonating across rap and R&B scenes alike.

With a sound that is both relatable and innovative, Simms continues to emerge from Baltimore’s vibrant music scene as a compelling voice, poised to make a lasting impact through his heartfelt songwriting and genre-defying style.
