About Bob Log III

Bob Log III is a Tucson, Arizona-based one-man band renowned for his ferocious blend of blues and punk, infused with raw, primitive energy and art-noise experimentation. His musical path began as a member of the avant-garde group Mondo Guano before gaining prominence with the influential duo Doo Rag. A turning point came during a tour supporting Ween when his bandmate unexpectedly left mid-tour, prompting Bob Log III to embark on a solo career.

Developing a signature style, he fuses Delta blues-inspired slide guitar with Latin-flavored drum machine rhythms, while his vocals are uniquely distorted through telephone microphones. Onstage, his trademark motorcycle helmet—equipped with a telephone receiver—serves both as protection from enthusiastic crowds and as a distinctive visual and sonic element, amplifying his reputation as one of underground music’s most uncompromising masked performers.

In 1998, Bob Log III signed with Fat Possum Records and released his solo debut album, "School Bus," followed by "Trike" (1999), both part of his ongoing "Vehicle Series." Known for electrifying live shows, he masterfully multitasks guitar, percussion, and vocals, creating an immersive, gritty soundscape. This inventive approach has earned him a dedicated following and solidified his status as a pioneering figure in the punk blues scene.
