About FFF

Dutch producer and DJ Tommy de Roos, widely known as FFF, has been a seminal figure in the breakcore and jungle music scenes since the 1990s. Launching his creative journey with sampled tape loops and tracker software, he founded Orange Socks in 1997—an independent label and ‘zine that released experimental cassettes blending breakcore, noise, and avant-garde sounds. By 2001, FFF had begun issuing vinyl records, including a notable split EP with Fast Forward, while also co-organizing the influential European event series Breakcore a GoGo with Bong-Ra, which played a crucial role in shaping the continent’s early breakcore movement.

In 2007, FFF released his Planet Mu debut 12" "The Feeling," showcasing his signature layering of complex breakbeats, distortion, and ragga-jungle influences. A pivotal 2008 tour of Japan deepened his involvement with the country’s hardcore scene, leading to multiple releases on Tokyo’s Murder Channel label—most prominently the ambitious double album "20,000 Hardcore Members Can't Be Wrong" (2011) and collaborations with artists like DieTRAX.

Throughout the 2010s, FFF evolved toward a more atmospheric fusion of old-school jungle and heavy breakbeats, collaborating frequently with rising talents such as Coco Bryce and Tim Reaper. His sound deftly combines rave energy, happy hardcore elements, and footwork rhythms, evident in projects like "Badman Touchdown" (2017) and the two-volume "Part of the Order" (2022). Continuing to innovate, FFF’s 2023 release "Eternal Mind" on PRSPCT Recordings underscores his ongoing influence as a pivotal figure in the resurgence of jungle and breakcore worldwide.
