About Dropkick Murphys

Emerging from a humble barbershop basement in Boston in 1996, Dropkick Murphys have become synonymous with Celtic punk, deftly blending raw punk rock energy with deep Irish-American roots. Originally formed as a friendly wager among friends, the band quickly transcended their modest beginnings to become one of punk’s most enduring and influential acts. Their signature breakthrough came with the anthemic "I'm Shipping Up To Boston," built around previously undocumented lyrics by folk icon Woody Guthrie. This track propelled Dropkick Murphys into mainstream acclaim, earning a prominent spot in Martin Scorsese’s Academy Award-winning film *The Departed* and becoming a near double-platinum classic that resonates across sports arenas and championship parades worldwide.

Over more than two decades, Dropkick Murphys have crafted a rich discography of nearly a dozen studio albums. They boast four consecutive Top 10 debuts on the Billboard charts with *Going Out In Style* (2011), *SIGNED and SEALED in BLOOD* (2013), *11 Short Stories of Pain & Glory* (2017), and *Turn Up That Dial* (2021). Their gold-certified album *The Warrior’s Code* (2005) remains a fan favorite, largely fueled by the enduring success of "I'm Shipping Up To Boston."

Continuing to honor their folk influences, the band released *This Machine Still Kills Fascists* (2022), setting previously unheard Woody Guthrie lyrics to their trademark urgent sound.
