About Jane’s Addiction

Emerging from the vibrant Los Angeles underground scene in the mid-1980s, Jane’s Addiction quickly became a cornerstone of alternative rock. Fronted by the charismatic Perry Farrell, the band’s classic lineup included bassist Eric Avery, guitarist Dave Navarro, and drummer Stephen Perkins. Their groundbreaking sound fused metal, punk, folk, and jazz influences, setting them apart in a rapidly evolving music landscape.

Jane’s Addiction broke through with their provocative debut album, *Nothing's Shocking* (1988), which, despite controversy surrounding its cover art, stayed on the charts for 35 weeks. They solidified their impact with *Ritual de lo Habitual* (1990), a multi-platinum success featuring iconic MTV hits like "Stop!" and "Been Caught Stealing." The album’s blend of raw energy and melodic experimentation cemented their place in rock history.

After their 1991 split, Farrell launched the pioneering Lollapalooza festival during the band’s farewell tour, showcasing leading alternative acts such as Nine Inch Nails. Members pursued other projects, including Porno for Pyros and Deconstruction. Jane’s Addiction reunited several times across the 2000s, releasing works like *Strays* (2003) and *The Great Escape Artist* (2011).

In 2024, the original quartet reunited once more, releasing "Imminent Redemption"—their first new song featuring Avery since 1990—reviving their creative spirit. Decades on, Jane’s Addiction remains a vital and influential force, their fearless fusion of styles continuing to inspire alternative rock fans worldwide.
