About Funk Tribu

Funk Tribu, born Eduardo Jose Montañez Sanchez in Bogotá, Colombia, is a producer and DJ who has carved out a unique niche within the nu-trance movement. Now based in Berlin, he blends retro-futuristic sounds with hypnotic grooves and ethereal textures, drawing heavily on the electronic music of the 1990s and 2000s. Growing up amidst Bogotá's vibrant music scene, Eduardo discovered his passion for electronic production as a teenager, inspired by the creative potential of digital music technology.

His signature track, "Phonky Tribu," served as a breakthrough, spotlighting his skill at merging groovy trance rhythms with dreamy, immersive sonic layers. Funk Tribu’s style fluidly crosses the boundaries between trance and techno, keeping dance floors energized with his forward-thinking approach. Over time, his productions have been featured on respected labels such as Speedmaster Records, KTK, Terminal V, Taapion, Color, A Million, and Teletech.

Beyond producing music, Funk Tribu has established his own label, TRIBE, aimed at fostering innovative talents and expanding the horizons of electronic music. This entrepreneurial move underscores his commitment to shaping the future soundscape of the global electronic dance community.
