About Jamie Lidell

British musician Jamie Lidell first emerged on the music scene as an experimental techno producer, notably collaborating with Cristian Vogel under the name Super_Collider in 1999. Their track "Darn (Cold Way o' Lovin')" garnered underground attention and established Lidell’s reputation within electronic circles. Transitioning from techno to a more soulful sound, Lidell launched his solo career with the album "Muddlin Gear" (2000) on Warp Records, blending electronic textures with his distinctive neo-soul vocals.

Lidell’s breakthrough came with "Multiply" (2005), co-produced with Mocky, where he refined a more organic, groove-driven style. This evolution continued on "Jim" (2008), which embraced a stripped-down, intimate approach, highlighting his vocal maturity. The 2010 album "Compass" marked another creative leap, featuring collaborations with Beck, Feist, and members of Grizzly Bear. Its title track gained wider recognition through inclusion in the soundtrack of the video game Red Dead Redemption.

After relocating to Nashville, Jamie Lidell built his own studio and released the self-titled "Jamie Lidell" (2013), followed by "Building a Beginning" (2016) on his own label, Jajulin. Known for his versatile voice and fearless genre-blending, Lidell has solidified his place as an innovative artist who fluidly bridges electronic music and neo-soul, continually pushing musical boundaries throughout his career.
