About Local H

Local H is a Chicago-based alternative rock duo that has carved out a distinctive niche in the music scene since their formation in 1990. Comprised of frontman Scott Lucas, who brilliantly combines guitar and bass through a modified setup, and drummer Ryan Harding, the band delivers a surprisingly full, dynamic sound despite their minimalist two-piece lineup. Their breakthrough came with the 1996 album "As Good As Dead," which featured the enduring hit "Bound for the Floor," a track that became a defining anthem of 1990s alternative rock and secured their place among the decade’s standout acts.

Building on this success, Local H pushed creative boundaries with the critically acclaimed 1998 concept album "Pack Up the Cats," showcasing their evolving artistry and thematic ambition. Over the years, the duo has maintained a prolific output, releasing their eighth studio record "Hey, Killer" (2015), numerous EPs, live albums, and a unique series of cover compilations titled "Mix Tapes." Their energetic live performances have earned them extensive touring opportunities, sharing stages with notable bands such as Toadies and Helmet, and even performing in sold-out stadium shows alongside Metallica.

Continuing their momentum into recent years, Local H co-headlined a 2020 spring tour with Soul Asylum while preparing their ninth studio album, "LIFERS," through AntiFragile Music. This enduring dedication to innovation and fans alike has solidified Local H’s reputation as influential stalwarts of alternative rock, demonstrating their lasting impact and relevance across more than three decades.
