About Brand New

Brand New is a rock band that originated in Long Island, New York, in 2000, consisting of vocalist and guitarist Jesse Lacey, drummer Brian Lane, bassist Garrett Tierney, and guitarist Vin Accardi. Emerging from hardcore roots, the band quickly garnered attention with a self-released demo and energetic shows alongside groups like Midtown and Glassjaw. Their 2001 debut album, "Your Favorite Weapon," produced by Mike Sapone, featured a punk-pop sound paired with introspective lyrics, including the standout track "Jude Law and a Semester Abroad," which helped build their early fanbase through extensive touring with acts such as Taking Back Sunday and Finch.

Brand New’s sound matured significantly with their sophomore release, "Deja Entendu" (2003), produced by Steve Haigler. This album marked a shift toward a more refined indie rock style, spawning MTV hits like "The Quiet Things That No One Ever Knows" and "Sic Transit Gloria...Glory Fades," which broadened their appeal and earned them slots on tours with blink-182 and New Found Glory. After signing with Dreamworks/Interscope, Brand New followed up with the darker and more introspective "The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me" (2006), an album praised for its emotional depth and complexity.

In 2009, they released "Daisy," focusing much of their promotion overseas, before entering a period of relative inactivity broken by sporadic performances and side projects. Their triumphant return came in 2017 with "Science Fiction," a critically acclaimed fifth studio album that debuted at number one on the Billboard charts, solidifying Brand New’s legacy as one of alternative rock’s most compelling and evolving forces.
