About Lori Meyers

Lori Meyers is a seminal Spanish alternative rock band that originated in 1998 in the small Andalusian town of Loja, Granada. Founded by childhood friends Antonio "Noni" López (vocals, guitar), Julián Méndez (bass, keyboard, vocals), Alejandro Méndez (guitar), and Alfredo Núñez (drums), the lineup later expanded to include Sergio Martín on bass and guitar. The band first gained attention with their early demos compiled into the *Ya Lo Sabes* EP (2004), followed by their debut album *Viaje de Estudios* (2004) released on the influential indie label Houston Party Records.

Lori Meyers’ career took a significant leap after their sophomore album *Hostal Pimodán* (2005) was reissued by Universal Music Group’s subsidiary La Incubadora in 2006, marking their entry into the major-label arena. Their distinctive sound—merging melodic indie rock with alternative nuances—resonated widely, culminating in steadily rising chart success. *Cronolánea* (2008) reached number 21 in Spain, while the Grammy-winning producer Sebastián Krys elevated their profile on *Cuando el Destino Nos Alcance* (2010), which peaked at number 16.

The band’s commercial and critical apex came with *Impronta* (2013), also produced by Krys, featuring hit singles like "Planilandia" and "El Tiempo Pasará," both charting in the Top 30. Their subsequent EP *A Solas* (2014) maintained momentum, and 2017’s *En la Espiral* became their first number-one album, cementing Lori Meyers as key architects of Spain’s contemporary alternative rock landscape. With a career spanning over two decades, they continue to influence and define the indie music scene in Spain.
