About Ingrid Michaelson

Ingrid Michaelson, born and raised in New York City within a creatively rich environment—her mother a sculptor and her father a classical composer—has carved out a distinctive voice as a folk-pop singer-songwriter. Known for her delicate vocals and heartfelt, emotionally honest lyrics, Michaelson has built a fiercely independent career through her own label, Cabin 24 Records. Over the years, she has released eight studio albums featuring platinum-certified hits like "The Way I Am," "Girls Chase Boys," and "You and I," which have resonated deeply with a wide audience.

Beyond her success in music recording, Michaelson has broadened her artistic footprint across television, film, and theater. She composed original music for acclaimed series such as Hulu’s *Little Fires Everywhere*—earning an Emmy nomination—and served as executive music producer for Apple TV+’s *Slumberkins*. Her acting ventures include roles in Netflix’s *Girls 5 Eva* and the indie film *Humor Me*. A significant milestone came in 2024 when she made her Broadway composing debut with *The Notebook*, a Tony-nominated musical whose original cast album reached number one on Billboard’s Cast Albums chart.
