About Peven Everett

Peven Everett is a multifaceted musician hailing from Harvey, Illinois, whose work fluidly bridges house, R&B, jazz, and hip-hop. At just seventeen, he earned a prestigious scholarship to Berklee College of Music but opted to leave early to gain real-world experience, touring with jazz icons such as Betty Carter, Branford Marsalis, and Wynton Marsalis. A gifted multi-instrumentalist, particularly on trumpet, Everett contributed to notable jazz projects like Curtis Lundy’s *Against All Odds*, showcasing his versatile musicianship beyond the club scene.

Emerging as a pivotal figure in Chicago’s vibrant house and R&B circles, Everett gained international acclaim through his collaboration with Roy Davis Jr. on the UK garage anthem "Gabrielle" and its follow-up "Watch Them Come," released under the Men from the Nile alias. His solo breakthrough came in 2002 with the deep house classic "I Can't Believe I Loved Her" and the compelling *Soul Tempura* EP. That same year, he released two soul-infused albums, *Speed of Light* and *Kissing Game*, on his own Studio Confession label. Continuing his artistic evolution, Everett later dropped a third solo album through Oakland’s ABB label, solidifying his status as a dynamic and innovative presence across multiple musical genres.

Peven Everett remains a uniquely talented artist whose seamless fusion of styles and commitment to musical exploration have earned him a respected, if sometimes underestimated, place in contemporary music history.
