About Lumiere

Lumiere is a Mexican band that first emerged in 2006, originally known as La Luz de San Telmo. The group's initial breakthrough came with their debut EP, "Fatalismo" (2007), recorded at Naranjada Records alongside producer Daniel Gutierrez from La Gusana Ciega. This early work established Lumiere’s signature blend of space rock and indie rock, marked by atmospheric soundscapes and lyrics infused with magical realism. Building on this foundation, the band independently released their full-length album "Coloso" (2012), further exploring experimental textures and deepening their distinctive musical identity.

Over the years, Lumiere underwent several lineup changes as band members pursued individual projects, which eventually led to a prolonged hiatus. Despite this pause, their influence within the Mexican indie rock scene remained significant. Recently, their debut EP "Fatalismo" was reissued on streaming platforms, rekindling interest among both longtime fans and new listeners. This release stands as a testament to Lumiere’s enduring artistic vision and their ability to craft a unique sonic world that continues to resonate across generations. Their fusion of genres and storytelling has cemented Lumiere as a memorable and influential presence in Mexico’s independent music landscape.
